Restore the Windows bootloader to MBR after dual-booting with Linux

Install this package via synaptic or commandline like this

sudo apt-get install grub-pc

After sucessful installation in terminal you can see like this windows being detected…

Edit Grub in karmic

To edit grub in ubuntu 9.10 or karmic

Open terminal

$ sudo apt-get install grub2 
$ sudo upgrade-from-grub-legacy

$sudo chmod 777 /boot/grub/grub.cfg

$sudo gedit /boot/grub/grub.cfg

by doing this you can edit grub and delete the update entries that are added while updation
and you can restore only the main entries
